project overview

Project Background

The proposed study area includes the southern portion of the WAMPO region, the boundaries are:

  • On the north, US 54/400 from Andover in the east to Goddard in the west;
  • On the west, a line running south from the west of Goddard (approximately S 263rd W) to the Ninnescah River and following the river to the Sedgwick County/Sumner County line;
  • On the south, the Sedwick County/Sumner County line, including all of Mulvane; and
  • On the east, by SW Meadowlark Road in Butler County.

In order to capture all possible transportation alternatives for the south area.

The WAMPO's 2030 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)*, provides a review of existing conditions in the planning region and identifies future needs, supporting regional goals and objectives. The SATS team will use the LRTP, along with other recently completed planning documents, and provide an open forum for feedback and discussion with the public and area stakeholders throughout the project.

* The 2030 LRTP can be found on their Web site at this link.
